社長フォトIn June 1963, we were established as a “dredging company” within the NYK Group. Soon thereafter, we also started up new services docking and undocking for the major dockyards in Tokyo Bay, and began a harbor towage service in the private terminal of the major steel mill and power station. We expanded our business activities quickly through the 1970s in parallel with Japan’s robust industrial growth.

Today, in close cooperation with our affiliate companies in Onahama, Sendai, Shiogama, Ishinomaki, Kamaishi, Miyako, Hachinohe, Akita, Muroran, Tomakomai and Okinawa, we are still developing not only in the main area of harbor towage but also in areas of contract towage, rescue operations, salvage, marine surveys, and a variety of support services for marine construction project. Supported by a variety of NYK Group companies, we continue to grow as a core company in the marine services field within the NYK Group.

In recent years, it has also become increasingly important to prevent marine accidents and to protect the marine environment. To fully address these concerns, we have established a wide-ranging network that links the related companies located in the various ports mentioned above, and thus we are better able to meet the needs of our customers.

The other major diversification of our company is in the ship-broking business. We first entered into this new field in 1974, and since then we have been actively brokering the sale and purchase of both newly built and secondhand tugboats, work vessels, marine machinery, and spare parts. Fortunately, we are enjoying successive inquiries from both sellers and buyers, and many negotiations are now ongoing.

In order to respond to customers’ needs and properly comply with them in a quick and timely manner, our Kaiyo-Kogyo Group will never stop pursuing new technology and investing in our employees so that they can build on our accumulated experiences and carry on our expertise.

We would sincerely appreciate your continuous support and understanding.
